John Buchan

1875 - 1940

John Buchan - later the 1st Baron Tweedsmuir - was a Scottish novelist, historian and politician who served as Governor General of Canada from 1935 to 1940. He wrote, or edited, around 90 books, including the classic 'The thirty-nine steps'.
